The four main PPI Categories which include technological purchases are…
(a) PPI on first-charge mortgages;
(b) PPI on second-charge mortgages and other secured loans;
(c) PPI on unsecured loans (mostly comprising PPI for personal loans, but also including PPI on retail credit, such as car loans, hire purchase and catalogue purchases); and
(d) PPI on credit card repayments.

In addition to this, to make PPI Claims easier for the consumer, PPI compensation could reach £2.7bn, says regulator. Compensation payments could stretch over five years. Two and three quarter million people could be refunded as much as £2.7bn for being mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI). The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has given banks and other lenders until 1 December to adopt new rules for dealing with PPI complaints.[8]
